Concord Tools

I've put together a number of small utilities for use with the Windows version of The Concord Study Package. These are tools that I've designed in order to make my life with Concord easier. So I thought I'd share them.

Also, I've finally figured out how to get Concord to run on Linux using the Wine Windows Emulator. You can read more about it here.

The Paster

The Paster is an add-in for Microsoft Word that automates the pasting process from Concord into Word. If you've ever used Concord and Word together, you know that after you paste text copied from Concord, you have to reformat and rearrange the text, deleting blank lines, changing the fonts, writing out book names, etc. Word's "Paste Special" feature involves too many mouse clicks and the citation book names are still in Concord's abbreviated format. The Paster offers a one-click solution. You can define how you want text from Concord pasted and, with the click of a button, it's done.

The Shuffler

The Shuffler is a random citation generator that picks citations from any or all of the books found in Concord, and lists them. Mrs. Eddy often found inspiration by opening her Bible at random, taking in whatever truth her eye rested on. But she probably had a big Bible that opened easily to any page in any book. Whenever I do it, I land somewhere in Psalms or "Footsteps of Truth", not that that's bad. The Shuffler is not a "Quote of the Day" thing, choosing citations pre-programmed by a person. The citations are truly random and you can select the books you want, and how many citations to make, etc. Try it!

The Lists

The Lists: various items not referenced anywhere in the Concord interface. The lists are alphabetized and will give you the citation in Concord's Search Box format.
